Data Analytics 101 for Library Professionals Workshop Series

Note: Registration for this bundle is now closed, but you can still sign up for any remaining individual courses in this series. See below for individual cours information.

In the modern library, data drives the work, from everyday decisions to larger strategic priorities. Often, library staff are asked to use and even lead data analysis work without ever receiving a solid foundation of learning how to effectively find, interpret, and share data within the library system. Through this course, ULC Research & Data Analyst Corissa Goodrich will provide library leaders with the information they need to advance their library’s data strategy.

More about this series:

  • Course format: This course is designed to provide library leaders with key foundational information over the course of four 2-hour workshops. Staff may choose to register for the entire series, or pick and choose which workshops seem they will be most beneficial. Each workshop will have some pre-and post-work designed to help enhance and apply the learning to the library context.
  • Audience: Library leaders with some responsibility for data collection and analysis, whether at a branch or for the system, who lack or have minimal formal training in data analysis techniques.
  • Preparing for the Course: This course is designed to work in sequence with our (free to members) Data Fluency course. It is recommended (but not required) that participants have taken the Data Fluency course OR have some baseline understanding of data reporting as it relates to their role and their library.
